Association of Childhood Professionals
Working together we can achieve great things!
Origins
The ACP began it's journey in 2005 when childhood professionals realised that their profession was rapidly changing as a result of policy development and that this change was occurring without meaningful consultation with the practitioner on the ground. These professionals decided to empower themselves by uniting to form the ACP.
Our association gives childhood professionals an independent voice to advocate for change that will benefit all practitioners working in early years and school age care & education and by extension the child, the family, and society as a whole.
As childhood professionals we are committed to supporting children in enjoying, and benefiting from, their childhood. We believe that children, their parents and Irish society in general, will benefit from the continued positive development of our profession.

Strength in numbersTo make the Association of Childhood Professionals truly representative of all those working in early childhood and school age care and education, we need as many people as possible to get involved. We welcome managers, owners, early childhood and out of school practitioners, childminders, students, tutors and ancillary support staff. The Association of Childhood Professionals is inclusive and supportive of every practitioner in our profession.
The Association of Childhood Professionals is mandated by it's members to represent their views and opinions at local, national and EU level. We are your voice. To download ACP leaflet please click here
